Bellelly - neative rating iPod touch application

AppStore is loaded with crap stuff, and bellely is one of them. It is not worth downloading.

But it can be useful if you want to annoy some one. Shake it to ring the bell.

it is loade with feature like modifying a bell theme.

And, we should give credits to the developer for this free digital bell application.

Moonfruit -- Beautiful Websites, simply.

I discover another painless website builder, Moonfruit. It also uses the 'edit-in-place' functionality like the one of Wix, which I talked about in my previous post.

But the twist I see here is that it lets you define first what 'Pages' template you want to use, unlike in Wix where you select a template then that's it. With Mooncake, you can choose first the overall template of your website, then template for the pages.

Then, you will be shown a summary of the design of your website.

After that, you will then be shown the result of the choice of templates you used. From there, you can then edit in place the different elements of the website you just created.

Twitter Hover on User's Image

I'm not sure when this was implemented but I love love how twitter lets you view information when you hover on a user's avatar/image. I've seen this before long time ago in multiply.

This post has no aim, like my other posts. I just want to take note of that cute little feature.

How to Add Pages to Blogger

Finally, Blogger allows creating Pages. One of the things why I prefer wordpress over blogger is that creating pages is super duper easy with wordpress. Not to mention, wordpress easily ranks in google ranking. Though, it might just be me.

You can find 'Edit Pages' under Posting tab. For more info, click how to add pages to blogger.

I am super happy!!!

The Color War of Location-Based Apps - foursquare vs gowall

Just when I posted about gowalla and foursquare last night, it looks like they 'connive' to do their updates at the same time today. I updated both my ipod touch foursquare and gowalla applications just now. It seems foursquare add more colors, while gowalla reduce the boldness of their colors (eeekkk sorry for my color terms).

Gowalla before

Gowalla after

While foursquare add some colors

Foursquare before

Foursquare after -- see the color on PLACeS =)

There are a few changes and feature added. But I'm superficial, so my comment is only up to the looks. =)

Twittelator -- the Packrat of iPod Touch Twitter Apps

If you want to have all imagineable settings and feature for an iPod touch Twitter application, then twittelator is for you. Just looking at their application settings, the only lacking there is can opener and a TV tuner and you can brat mcgyver already.

To create a reply or a new tweet. you are presented with all imaginable features. It seems thy the world will end if they are not splashed in front of your face.

And, their More is definitely mooorrreee.

You have 101 options to do with a link -- including 'go back' and 'cancel.' In case you do not know 'go back,' here is 'cancel' for you.

If you think, you still do not get your money's worth, do not worry, here are more third party services for you to indulge yourself on.

Tweet Blocker is actually a nifty feature. But on the other thought, I'd rather unfollow someone instead of using the tweet blocker. This kinda reminds me of 'stealth mode' in IMs.

Twittelator is the OC packrat!

Application Mock-up/Prototype Builders

I happen to get across different platform of application mock-up/prototype builders this morning, or a variation of it. I think we all know about balsamiq. Following are few stuff that are new to me.

Flairbuilder. It has no free version so you can take a look at its video below to get a feel of how it works.

Fluidia. I think they are still on beta, still on the works. But you can give it a try, click here.

This is how fluidia workspace looks like. Looking at it, it kinda reminds me of balsamiq only, the tools are on the sidebar. Just my thoughts.

Threads - an iPod touch application for threadless

I'm not sure if Ian Marsh is part of threadless team or is commisioned to work for a mobile application for them because the looks kind of not metalab - the people behind threadless.

Anyhoo, if you are a threadless fan, it does not hurt to give it a try. It's for free. So basically what you can do with it is view shirt designs.

I have this shirt, and mati too -- it them on sale. This was posted at the AppStore as sample screenshot.

Some designs I find interesting when I browse via the threads app:

I have a thing for bold sunshiny colors.

I find this unique.

I like the statement!

Gluenow is not letting me have awesome@owrange.gluenow.com

as my email address for posting via email.

I am not really sure what genre should I liken their application. I just found Glue from appstore, downloaded it. i never get to used it, until now. But they won't let me have 'awesome.' I want awesome because I am!

Edit-in-Place Trending -- Squarespace Doing it That Way too

After I talked about wix in my previous post, here is squarespace. I find squarespace more of a blogging platform than of a website builder. But I guess, it depends on how you were able to manipulate it, you can make a full-length website out of it. I think squarespace is comparable to wordpress. Though, squarespace is more on the artsy fartsy side of presenting their web application.

How they implement their edit-in-place feature.

Intuit Has a Website Builder Application -- Homestead

Intuit is known for its accounting software (like quickbooks and their newly acquired web app, mint), then their various turbo tax applications. I'm surprised to know they have website builder application. I mean of course any software company can have any kind of software but it is just I've only known them for accounting and taxes software.

They provide free 30-day trial but you need to provide a credit card information. I'm lazy going thru it, so anyway below is a screenshot of their website -- so business-looking. And, the name, homestead, kind of reminds me of names of life insurance companies.

Wix -- Instant Beautiful Website

I've seen weebly -- a dead simple way to build a professional or just simply beautiful website with their drag-and-drop technology.

But it is just now I see an edit-in-place way to build your website. You should check WIX. Aside from their arrays after arrays of beautiful website templates you can select from...

the most amazing about is that you can edit-in-place the templates. You just click the part of the website you want to modify or work on, and then it became editable.

Painless way to build a beautiful website -- try wix.

Blogger's Dashboard New Look Says Much About the Trend Now of Going Mobile

Most of the time I do my posting via mobile. Rarely that I post via web nowadays. So I'm kinda surprised with the new look of Blogger's dashboard. They put an icon of their 2 features on the main dashboard -- posting via email and posting via SMS/MMS. These features are actually not new. Posting via email/SMS has been here like for years. But it's just recently they placed them on the main dashboard. I believe this confirms that trend nowadays is really going mobile. I do not say that using the desktop will be rare. But it is more that people will be more active and more comfortable posting to their blogs, or doing online transaction via mobile.

Their posting via SMS is for US numbers only though.

For those bloggers from Philippines, there is another way to post SMS without being charged with international text rates. You can check @tweetitow which has an SMS blogging feature. @tweetitow can support full-length blog with title and body.

So you see, you really do not need to have an expensive smart phone just to be able to connect to your blogs.

Logo that Makes me Smile

Everytime I open the amazon kindle application for my iPod touch, I can't help but smile at its logo. It looks inviting for you to smile. It's dead simple but beautiful. Art! =)

Nambu - buhbye iPod touch app

This has been with me for awhile but I never get to figure out how to make use of it. Just looking at its dashboard -- it's a no brainer. This ipod touch application has to go.

You can integrate it with a lot of microblogging sites to give credits to it.

But I just have to say this nambu is nambu-Buhbye!!!

Never Trust Apps using Comic Sans

I was ready to forgive mental notes for their comic sans font they used (correct me I'm wrong but anyhoo theirs looks like comic sans) because somehow I love the ease-of-use of their 'doodle' feature.

I was this close to even buying the upgrade but I was tad disappointed when the file, pics and doodles, I saved as photo turned out like this:

Blackmail?!?

No. Thanks. I'm fine with evernote & note&sketch.

iSoft Twitter - Your Name Bores Me

Actually, there is a Twitter iPod touch application named Twitter. I just titled this post iSoft Twitter to give a little differentiation. This makes me think that this is probably twitter's mobile app for iPhone because they permit it o use 'twitter.' The reason twitterfon becomes echofon is because Twitter is copyrighted blahblah.

So anyway, Twitter let's me login every time I open it. Boring!

Then gives you a Twitter timeline which is basically that's it for this app.

Well, it's color combination is odd, out of taste but I like it. I like badly combined bold colors. Attitude!!! Can't get any badder than pink & green.

Aside from it's bad color combination, I like that when you view a user's tweet, its background shows the user's chosen background from his Twitter account settings.

And, nothing more to talk about it. So iSoft Twitter -- delete or cancel???

See it's name is really Twitter. Should research on that.
